I'm attempting to do NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) this year, even though I've got too many projects on my plate. But I REALLY like the concept of writing a book in a month, even if it's a crappy book. I'm a little bit behind, so I hope to catch up this week (I'm trying to do 2,275 words five days a week since our weekends are busy for the next few weeks). If you're doing NaNoWriMo as well, come be my writing buddy! My screen name there is Jamie Z.
I've been thinking about a dystopic novel for a while now that involves . . . well . . . I frankly haven't worked out all the details, but let's just say it's a sci-fi dystopia with feminist elements (as you might have guessed). Working title: Love Unadorned, although that may mislead the audience into thinking it's a romance novel. It's definitely not. My husband has noted a distinct increase in my level of happiness since I started to write it, so I consider that a good sign.
Write on!
