Seriously level up your writing game by spending one hour with a professional editor who understands the publishing game. Submit 300 words (about 3 paragraphs or 15 average-sized sentences) and get real-time feedback on them. You'll be surprised what 300 words can reveal about your writing style—what is working and what writing tics and problems you should fix to improve your publishing odds. If you're new to agents/pitching/publishing, bring your questions to our online meeting. Editors/agents/grant-givers are so busy that they must make snap judgments on pitches, articles, papers, and manuscripts, so come get a careful, encouraging pre-snap.

I'm in Maryland (US Eastern Time), so please plan accordingly if you live in another time zone (Time Zone Converter).

Once you purchase a workshop, I'll email you to set up a time and give you a Google Meet link.

Details: No returns. If you can't make it and we can't reschedule, pass your meeting link to a writing friend for their birthday!

Rules of the Game:
  1. Buy an hour.
  2. I'll email you to set up a date/time and give you our Google Meet link.
  3. I do not sell your information, and I do not send you any promotional material. If you'd like updates, you can sign up for the Newsletter on the Contact page.
  4. Email your 300 words (no more) with me using a Google Doc or Word. Email me at least five minutes before our session. I don't read it beforehand so you can get on-the-spot reactions as we go through it together.
  5. Come on time.
  6. Bring a notebook and any questions.
  7. Please observe Meeting Netiquette. I reserve the right to kick someone out of the workshop if they become abusive, no refund.
  8. Workshops are safe spaces, so meetings are not recorded.
  9. I edit and analyze as I read out loud, so be prepared for me to read your back work to you—a superb service itself in terms of feedback. I teach you how to hear when something is off (Closed captioning also available).
These Google Meet feedback sessions are as intense or as laid back as you want them to be. The overall goal is to teach you to spot your own mistakes, fix them, and move your work toward publication.
